Ok, so I just bought two weeks ago the AirPods Pro 2 so I can answer my phone with the nod of my head when I am out on the bike trail. I see that this is out, with the version of 7A220e. So, as you can see I have iOS 18, so I am a beta tester, and I have spent two day's executing numerous suggestions made by a number of people to get developers mode to show up on privacy and security. My Mac is a 2015, yes old, and I tried using I CareFone and that didn't work. Nothing that was suggested worked.

In conclusion, I can't get 7A220e and the Developers Mode on my iPhone 14 Pro. I have taken the AirPods out and back in shut the lid wait 10minutes on a charge, and that was a no go, the waited 20 minutes, and that was a no go, I did a hard rest and that was a no go. I repeated all these procedures numerous time, and still a no go. I am still on 6F7 and case is 65.3.0, and the developer mode never showed up. I appreciate any help. Thank you so much

I don’t see it mentioned, are you running XCode beta as well? As I understand this is required to load AirPod betas

No, can I get that up on the apple store?
if you are a registered developer (even the unpaid kind), yes, you can download Xcode. But you need to get it from the downloads tab on Developer.Apple.com, not the App Store.

Once you have that installed, connect your phone to your Mac. Once you’ve done that, you will have a Developer setting all the way down at the bottom of your iPhone’s settings app Main page. Then just keep Xcode on your Mac but you will not need to go back to it again.

Then, go to the Developer settings (as mentioned above, at the very bottom of your Settings screen on your phone). Click on that and on the screen that opens up, navigate nearly all the way down and you’ll see a subgroup called ”AirPods testing”. Click on the setting called “Pre Release Beta Firmware”. Then, on the screen that opens, toggle to “on’ the “Airpods Pro (2)“ setting.

You missed a step, you need to enable developer mode under privacy settings with the phone connected to the Mac with Xcode beta opened. Then the Developer menu will show at the bottom under Apps.

Thanks. I was going from memory there and thought I might have missed something.

So, here is the big issue, if you have a computer that running on macOS Monterey and can’t go beyond that simply because it has reached its life expectancy, then you are not going to be able to do this. Is this a fair statement?

I honestly don't know (A) if you need to be running the latest version of Xcode or (B) if you do, whether that can run on Monterey or not. My best advice is to go to the Developer portal and download the latest possible version of Xcode it allows you to do and see if that does the trick.

Thank you so much, I’ll give it a try.
