I see that my second generation iPad Pro 12.9 with A10X Fusion chip will not be able to upgrade to iOS 18. My question is what happens now that I will have to remain at iOS 17.

Will this leave my iPad vulnerable to any security issues and what about the usability of my apps?

You will get iOS 17 updates.

Possibly, depending on which security fixes Apple decides to implement and make available in iOS 17 updates. Release timing of iOS 17 vs 18 updates is not necessarily the same but have been pretty close. iOS 17 will most likely get regular updates until iOS 20 is released.

As for apps… as long devs support iOS 17.

Thank you, this is very helpful information.
