iOS 18 - Move your icons anywhere they said….but not your widgets?

This make no sense! Why can’t I move a widget in the middle?

Sigh…. Assume it will be added as “feature” in iOS 19.

just tried to do the same with a 2x2 photo widget with flanking app icons - no dice.

oddly you can do that with the control panel controls. No idea why they’re different.

It does not work for square ones.

I'm going to guess that there is still an underlying grid structure that is 4 units across, and for whatever reason they have chosen to limit square widgets to line up with either the 2 left side units of the screen or the two on the right, but not the two in the middle. But maybe it's a bug.

2x2 doesnt hold in the middle 2 rows. Worked for a week or so in Beta 3 then broke. Id love to be able to pop my 2x2's in the middle. Big Fail Apple
