Have you downloaded it? If so, what type of improvements (or let downs) have you noticed?

Thanks
It popped up while I was downloading the iPhone iOS 4.0.1 update and I didn't see everything it was to address. Possibly it has to do with the signal bar display on 3G models as the iPhone update does.

From Macrumors.com front page.

Apple has also released iOS 3.2.1 for iPad, addressing a number of issues including Wi-Fi connectivity issues as promised in an Apple support document posted several months ago:
- Improved Wi-Fi connectivity
- Fixed an issue that could prevent copy and paste of single-page PDF attachments in Mail
- Addressed an issue that could cause video playback to freeze
- Improved reliability of video-out when using iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter
- Added Bing as an option for Safari's search field

I'm really hoping this firmware change somehow allows for more web pages to be opened before reloading others. That's the single biggest complaint I have with the iPad.

I also hope the minor wifi problems I've been experiencing are a thing of the past after this update.

please report

oh i will... whlie i haven't had the wifi issues (i can't tell, i live in a studio apt in NYC... it's a closet--can't possibly be any 'wifi issues' here), i've certainly have had that damn freezing problem. and boy does that problem piss me off.

Since they just sent out the 3.2.1 update, it might still be too early to know but has anyone tried spirit jailbreak yet?

ooooookay, well that was interesting. when i connected my ipad, i couldn't get the DFU restore going immediately, so i just let it install the update. iPad reboots... since i've got 3.2.1 on it, I fired up a website with video and let it run.

within 30 seconds, the 'site' froze, but the video kept playing... then get this, i hit the home button, it goes back to the home screen, but the audio is still being piped in from safari, even though i just closed safari... wtf?

yea, DFU restore time.

Still no reason not to have the iOS 4 on it by now.

What makes you expert on this?

I'm been doing software development professionally for 15 years. I can think of 100s of very good reasons it's not available. I'd consider it pretty amazing if it was. For one thing, while they share a common core, all the UI code is different. On top of that they use different device drivers. On top of that, even apple has limited resources available with the right skills do to the work concurrently with the iPhone release. And on and on it goes.

Seems to have a little fix to the app store - Show More is less dodgy, and in Charts you return to the number you left without having to reload. Um, hope that made sense...

Anyone else get a really fast backup now? I don't have to wait as long for it to get done. Much quicker.

I think it all depends on when your last backup was..

People are saying data speeds dropped on the iPhone 4 with the new update. Can anyone confirm anything similar with the iPad update?

Apparently today is the day I pay the price for clicking "Cancel Backup" all those times the last couple of weeks. My iPad will be backing up all day, and locking out my iTunes  What year is this again?

I can't even do the damn update because of my backup issue. My batter runs out before it does a full back up!! No lie. So of course my battery is half dead and it's trying to do a backup. To top it off, Now my backup green bar seems to be frozen. They gotta fix that damn issue!!!

I give up.

web video is lookin pretty smooth folks. i think they nailed it with this update.

yup. snappy.
