I updated Epic Citadel yesterday and caught this in the update description:

  • Fixed performance issues on iPad devices running iOS4 or later.

I'm assuming that this means they actually had an iPad iOS4.x test environment, which could mean that iOS4.2 is closer than November.

We can only hope. *fingers crossed* Im patiently waiting for the devteam to release the jailbreak but if 4.2 came before november there wouldnt be much need for jailbreaking.

I saw that as well. I'm guessing Apple gave them an early copy of 4.2 for their iPad testing since their game engine probably has a lot of fairly low level code to operate that fast and a large OS update could cause issues.

All other developers are still waiting for a beta build though. So I think it will still be November.

It would be nice for it to be released before, but i've been waiting for about 5 months so a few more weeks of waiting can't be that bad.

Usually when Steve Jobs says November, it means November 29th. :p

So true. Also, they better ship a beta soon or they'll miss their November timeline. There's a lot of features in this release that need testing by third-parties (printing, multitasking, etc.).

Yes.. Infact I don't understand why some user are keeping saying that "November is only a few weeks away" — ok, seven weeks at the first of November, but 11 to the end of it!

It could still be nearly three months from now!
