Basically, I was previously on firmware 4.3.3 but had to restore for a couple of reasons, not gonna bore you with the details, obviously that upgraded my firmware to 4.3.5.

I looked online and read that there is no untethered 4.3.5 untethered jailbreak and most likely never will be, however there is a tethered, I pretty much know the answer I'm gonna get but thought it would be worth asking you guys if you know of any untethered jailbreaks for 4.3.5?

I tried downgrading the firmware following a video, but it seems it cannot be done (don't have SHSH blobs), i tried to do it following a video and got my iPhone stuck in recovery mode which I have now fixed, just like before, I pretty much know I am going to read "no" but thought it was worth asking if it can be done without SHSH blobs if there is no untethered?

I pretty much know ill have to settle with tethered until newer firmware comes out with an untethered jailbreak, but any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The only iDevice that's untethered on 4.3.5 is the old bootrom 3Gs. Unless you have one of those, you are stuck with a tethered jailbreak.

Thought so, I got iPhone 4 - thanks anyway mate.

As asked before, no way of downgrading?

I'm guessing ill have to start looking for tethered jailbreaks lol, do you know if any new firmwares will come out soon that they will do untethered for (or any idea on how long iOS 5 comes out, as I'll bet they'll definitely make one for that)?

Thanks again.

There is no way to downgrade without your SHSH blobs. For a tethered jailbreak look into redsn0w. 4.3.4 and 4.3.5 will never be made untethered. iOS 5 will probably be the next untethered jailbreak.

Cool, thanks for that mate... any idea of when they may be releasing iOS 5? I know they have Beta's so I'm guessing soon?

So With a tethered jailbgreak you have to use RedSn0w to power it back on everytime you turn it off or it loses pow

Does a respring require Redsn0w too?

first question: yes
second question: no

i JB my iPhone 4 and except for the initial reboot i have NOT had to plug it in once! i was thinking like you every rasping but thank god.. no LOL

I cannot believe no one asked you this, but if you've been jailbroken in the past you most likely have your SHSH blobs saved with Cydia. Have you been jailbroken previously? Do you remember agreeing to "make my life easier?"

Spacecake123 is in the EXACT same situation as i was.. 4.3.5. couldn't down grade cuz no blobs .. i know what U said about should having them but i couldn't find them along with help from this board even..

i also searched and searched and search some for an unteth 4.35. aint one out there.. my advice from someone who was in your EXACT same situation just 2 week ago .. do it, go tethered.. really not as much of a PITA as i thought.. haven't had to reboot since doing it.. just that initial time..

I have been JB before, but do not remember agreeing to making life easier, I JB tethered last night, it aint that bad, can put up with it for time being I guess.

your link to iclarified still lists this as a tethered jailbreak.

Correct there us no untethered jb for 4.3.5 they usually don't use major expoits on minor firmware updates. Next untethered jb isn't expected till 5.0 is released. Tethered only comes into play if you turn your phone off or loose full battery respringing is not a problem. I was tethered for about 6 months had to use redsn0w once to boot up.

I understand that they use no new exploits but with an Old bootrom 3gs no new exploit would be necessary. via the 24kpwn and limerain exploits. That is the reason I asked what version of redsnow would accomplish this. Early in this post it says untethered is possible on old bootrom 3gs if you know how, and http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Firmware lists it as untethered as well.

Correct 3GS is untethered it always is because of the above.

iphone dev team themselves say redsn0w 0.9.8b5 is tethered on ALL devices. This why I am trying to find what version/ method to use to jailbreak iphone 3gs old bootrom on 4.3.5.

Has anyone tried downgrading an iPhone 4 without SHSH blobs to iOS 4.1? IT's still be signed, but I want to confirm it works for 4th Gen iDevices...
