The ability to stream video from 3rd-party iOS apps to the Apple TV. Previously it used to just be audio.

I recall reading Apple have altered the keyboards slightly for easier text input.

We may see some more features at next weeks event but I'm doubtful.

I hope they introduce playing files from NAS, scraping of video information, video plugins for iPlayer, Hulu and 100's of other sites, skinable GUI, playback of MPEG2, MKV, AVI Xvid + Live TV.

:D

You want it to become Plex then? :D

iTunes LPs/Extras.

I wish.

You're not asking for something impossible. In fact, I think it's very likely.

Steve himself said it was coming in a reply to a customer e-mail and it's a feature that is already in the previous generation tv. The fact that Apple still sells Extras in iTunes leads me to believe that it's a feature that will come back -- if not in iOS 4.3, soon after.

I wonder if this means an update to Quicktime on Mac OSX to allow this. At the least, it should be offered in Safari but a Quicktime update would take care of that and offer more possibilities of streaming via AirPlay from a Mac to tv.

No, probably more like XBMC! :D

In any case, I take it any users using non-standard/jb configurations should not update to iOS 4.3 if they don't want to lose any functionality.

[I only mention it because there seem to be a number of first-time jb-ers here.]

So iOS 4.3 can push video content from apps but not text content (i.e. pushing your Facebook wall) to the Apple TV? I know there's no real reason other than vanity for this---but it'd still be pretty neat . As someone without any real understanding of iOS, I would presume pushing audio/video content wouldn't be that much more difficult than pushing the rest of the app content.

we will need some updates from our apps for them to work with video airplay. im hoping the new mlb at bat 2011 will come with video enabled in the app for airplay. it is due out real soon.

i have 4.3 beta installed on my iphone 4 and apple tv. and the new mlb app as well. so far video for airplay has not been enabled yet. only audio comes through = (

heres to hoping they update the app by the time the official release of 4.3 comes out.

One major issue for me that has been fixed was the problem with subtitle fontsize. You now get decent sized subs for all types of video resolution.

But why did they have to change the way subtitles is displayed (with a grey background across the entire bottom image). I really liked the way it was used on the original ATV1.
