I have ios 5.0.1 9A406 does any one know when ios 5.1 will be relesed to the public

I think the 3G switch button + maybe battery issues fix.

battery issues will always be there with smart phones, what people don't realize is never closing out apps and having certain options like brightness and auto dim set at like 5 min. is what truly kills the battery.

not sure what you mean by 3g switch button? Do you mean to turn off 3g at will?

LOL. You're right of course. These newbies register, are too lazy to search for anything and then post the same STUPID question that's been asked a hundred times.

The next newbie will ask about the name of the iPhone 5 and what features it will have.

Don't worry, I have all this set to minimum. And it has half the battery life of the iPhone 4.

I bet Apple has something in store for us with 5.1 because a update with no features taking this long to come out seems strange.

Yes. Under Settings>General>Network there has always been an 'Enable 3G' toggle. Starting with 5.0, this option was no longer available on the 4S. Now, in 5.1 beta 3, it's back, meaning it will likely be in the official 5.1.
