I had a fairly routine (took 3 tries) update of iPad1 to iOS5. All was working but overnight things got odd.

Now every app just starts and immediately quits. System Preferences, Safari, games, etc.

So I turned if off and restarted. Safari loaded, I view the Yahoo web page then it crashed. Same issues all over.

Did a hard reboot.

Same issues.

It is like the whole system is corrupt or our of memory or something, even after a forced reboot.

I am going to do a wipe and restore now.

Does anyone else have any thoughts or suggestions? Am I the only one with this issue?

Go to the app store on your phone and download a free app. That fixed the problem for me.

Installing any new app did not work for me. No third party app works, Pandora, flashlight, even the Apple Store app does not work.

I'm looking at a clean restore to factory setting. Can't think of what else to do.
