iOS 5 custom vibration not working!!

I just downloaded ios5, and the first thing i noticed is that when i get a text message, my phone vibrates TWICE instead of ONCE. note, i hate this. so i figured i could easily fix this by using the custom vibrations setting. no such luck. i tried everything, even setting custom vibrations for specific contacts. nothing. ive read atleast ten step by step instructions and watched videos, im doing everything right. can ANYBODY help?!?

also- the led notification is also not working, but that im not as concerned about.

The double vibration for texts is something that has been implemented in later builds of iOS 4. The custom vibrations in iOS 5 only work for calls

I was really hoping for this option. I can't always differentiate between email and text and was excited to be able to create my own text vibration patterns.
