iOS 5 Gestures and Tabbed Browsing iPhone 4s?

Did I miss something here. I have the iPad 2 and love the new swipe gestures of iOS and tabbed browsing. I was under the impression that those were included with the iPhone? I'm gonna feel like such a huge idiot if it was made quite clear the iPhone won't get those features of iOS 5?

Tabbed Browsing was only ever planned for iPad.

I guess they thought tabbed browsing would take up too much real estate and that gestures wouldn't be easy to use on a 3.5" screen...but I'm with you! I'd love to get some gestures and swipe between apps!
