Hopefully this question hasn't been asked too many times. I tried searching and found a ton of questions like "When will untethered be released?!", but my question is a bit different.

Currently I am running an untethered 4.x on my iPhone 4 and I'm strongly considering upgrading to iOS 5. I know that currently there is not an untethered jailbreak. I was going to wait, but I'm a bit impatient. :p

I know I could do a tethered jailbreak, but I don't want to risk needing to restart my phone (or running out of battery) while not at home.

The main question is: Should I upgrade and lose the jailbreak, or wait? The only real huge cons that I can think of are losing SBSettings, Activator, and 5 icon dock. But I have no idea if it is worth it since no one knows how long it could take.

Thoughts? Is the upgrade worth losing these and other jailbreak features?

Thanks in advance!

1st part - nobody knows for sure. Its just a waiting game
2nd part - its up to you. if you have JB apps that you are using now and can live without them..then go ahead and go legit. Its really up to you and what apps..ect you use and wouldnt mind not using for the next weeks or so.

I have a question related to this one.

I currently am on a jailbroken 4.x iPhone 4.
I do not care about preserving my baseband.

If I upgraded to the vanilla iOS 5 right now, will I still be able to jailbreak in the future?
