iOS 5 is definitely an improvement from what we had in iOS 4 and I was hoping I wouldn't need to jailbreak anymore but I really need LockInfo back and I REALLY don't understand why Apple can't incorporate more features into the OS.

Weather and Calendar right on the lock screen...and collapsable. Very handy, especially the calendar.

Speed dial (with photos) right from the lock screen. Why won't Apple do this? So much easier/faster than unlocking, tapping the phone icon and then tapping favorites.

Collapsable groups...it's nice to have your notifications show up on the lock screen...but if you get too many (like emails), then the whole screen is a mess. Would be nice to be able to collapse that group to keep things neat.

Don't even get me started on SBSettings...one of the top things I used was the quick Wifi on/off and Brightness settings...very annoying to have to go into the settings and dig into the menus to do this.

I'm sorry but most of LockInfo is not there now. It's a poor watered down version.

Besides what the OP already mentioned, unread notifications do not stay on the screen after unlocking phone. No option to show upcoming calendar events a couple days ahead. No option to preview entire message.

I really hope a dev can fix notifications as apple did a poor job of it. Can't wait to jailbreak my phone again. (untethered)

I didn't update for that being one of the main reasons. Ios5 is still very poor & total crap than everything my jb does. Apple sucks at updating their software
Lock info & sbsettings > every update apple has had

Excellent point. With LockInfo, the notification are always there and in front of you, so you don't forget. With Notification Center, you have to actively remember to swipe down after unlock the phone to see what notification you have. If I remembered that...then I probably wouldn't need the memos in the first place. :p

iOS 5 is great for people who never jailbroke and didn't know any better...but for everyone who did, we're pretty spoiled.

I wouldn't jailbreak again *just* for that.

Why not though? Don't know if I've ever noticed a downside to jailbreaking (unless you start going all crazy and customizing everything (icons, layouts, etc) in which case I could see the phone start to slow down/act weird).

I'm jailbroken on iOS 5, with LockInfo and SBSettings working great (and preserved my 1.59.00 bb, too). I was hesitant of the tethered JB (I was on 4.3.3. untethered), but it hasn't been an issue so far. I will JB again when the untethered becomes available.

I don't enjoy spending that sort of time with the IPSWs waiting for redsn0w or purple haze or limeade slush to come out with the jailbreak. If I could still UNLOCK??? Absolutely.

I've never tried a tethered jailbreak...and don't really know much about it.

Seems to have to have the phone plugged into the computer when you restart it? Do you have to also have some other software running or do anything else, or just have it connected?

Then my other question...what happens when you install and app like LockInfo or MyWi...does the phone need to restart and what happens then?

User Agent Faker, My3G, SBSettings, LockInfo, biteSMS...ugh, I could go on and on.

I got my 4S this morning and it's a great phone. iOS5 is the beginning of a step in the right direction, for sure. But I agree with the poster earlier that said iOS5 is great for those that have never been jailbroken...for those of us that have, we're spoiled...lol.

Eventually (hopefully, maybe, please, please, please) there will be an untethered jailbreak for iOS5 and you can be sure I'll be using it. Just like I stuck with Apple and upgraded to the 4S because I'm so invested in their ecosystem (and because it's a great phone), I'll be jailbreaking again because I'm so invested in the Cydia ecosystem and all the great little tweaks it allows.

iOS5 = great and a step in the right direction
iOS5 + jailbreaking = PERFECT. :D

maybe because what your asking for defeats the purpose of a LOCK screen.

Why? It's not different than what iOS 5 is doing aside from the information being better organized/managed.

Whenever you have to reboot, you need to have your phone connected to your computer, put it in DFU mode, and run Just Boot from redsn0w. It takes about a minute. I was dead set against using a tethered JB prior, but it's not that bad so far. I'm near a computer at work and home, and don't need to reboot often, usually if installing certain apps via Cydia. You can respring all you want without losing the JB. If you're stuck away from a computer on a reboot, the phone is still functional with stock iOS 5. I haven't crossed that bridge yet. And I'll definitely rejailbreak when the untethered comes out, which it sounds like it will, just a matter of time.

Notifications Center pales in comparison to both LI and IS, (Intelliscreen). I own both and prefer IS over LI. Looks like LI will be iOS5 compatible....doesn't look like IS will be. It's a shame.

i still can't figure out why Apple can't put the date somewhere that It can be accessed without closing the app...
