Has anyone noticed this? When you're at a place with a Wifi network, turn off the screen. Wait about 20 seconds for wifi to disconnect, then turn the screen on again.
The phone will be on 3G, and the Wifi indicator doesn't appear until you launch an app that uses the network.
At least that's what I've noticed. Is it just me? I can see this being good for saving battery, but also delaying access to the network when you need to just check something quickly, especially if your wifi is slow to connect like some corporate hotspots...
