I tried syncing only my photo folder found on my mac, but when I choose to only sync that folder, it creates a "camera roll" with all my pics, like it's a duplicate folder.

Is this normal or not?

Your camera roll is the only folder in photo's / albums that you can delete from on the iPad itself.

Same works with iCloud, if you delete items from camera roll on your phone or iPad. they will be deleted from the cloud.

I had nothing on my Camera Roll in IOS 4 and the only folder I had on my phone was the one with all my photos, wallpapers, etc.

Now, since I updated to IOS 5, when I choose to sync the same photos folder, it duplicates all my images to the Camera Roll.

This is weird.
