Anybody willing to make an educated guess as to how smoothly will iPhone 4 run new iOS 5? I mean, for one - maybe it will be optimized for dual-core?

Wait and See? Well, in my case I either buy an iPhone 4 now or wait for the new one. Hence my question.

We're at the very end of the usual hardware cycle for iPhones; it would be quite unwise to make a purchase before we know the outcome of the WWDC keynote in just over a week's time. You'd be much better informed for having seen it.

Nobody knows for sure.

Although, they will most probably optimize iOS 5 for the upcoming Dual Core iPhone, and the current Dual Core iPad.
Apple has got to make current iPhone 4 owners upgrade too right? it's all business.

So if the latest version of iOS 4 upgrade lags your iPhone 4, then one can only imagine what iOS 5 will hold. If not, then it probably will run smoothly.

Anyway, it makes absolutely no sense to buy an iPhone 4 now.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Wasn't there already a rumor that iOS 5 won't run on the 3GS? I could only imagine it'll slow the iPhone 4 down a little.

I think they'll be leaving out the bluray player on iOS6 if you still are running the 3GS.

No no. Its the BluRay WRITER that they're leaving out on the 3GS, you'll still be able to see them with the built in 3D screen.
And in case you're wondering, I heard that from my brothers friends cousin who used to work for AT&T sales but then got a promotion to tech support. So you know he's telling the truth.

Damn it! They are so confusing. Why the heck would you throw in a bluray player without the freaking writer??!?!?!! AHHHH. dumb Apple.
