iOS 5 taking up extra space?

i finally got through all the steps of restoring and all of that. now my phone is loaded into iTunes and just sitting there charging, but down in my memory usage bar it says my other usage in yellow is 10.9 GB?!? i went from having like 17 GB free in my iPhone 4 to having 4.3 GB free? what is going on?

My iPod Touch did the same thing. I restored it from the back-up I made right before I installed iOS5. Reinstalling all my apps & music now.
