iOS 5 temporary battery fix

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere but has anyone tried turning off "setting time zone" under location services. My GPS was active all of the time while this was enabled and so far I've seen a noticeable increase in battery life.

Yes other threads does exist in relation to this. Personslly I've turned all them off.

My iphone 4 battery has vastly improved.

I personally refuse to turn anything off. Why pay for a $300+ phone and pay $80+ for it monthly if you gotta turn off most of its features to get it to work? It needs to work as advertised. Period.

I bought a bulky battery case to use until Apple fixes this.

I think what bandofbrothers meant was that he/she has turned off everything in Location Services>System Services which is where "setting time zone" is situated along with other things that really dont need to be on.

I along with a lot of other people have also done the same.

I wouldn't know because I turned it off when I first loaded iOS 5

Some may say why would you go out and buy a $300+ cellphone if you gotta slap on a bulky, heavy $40+ battery case on it. By doing this, you've actually shown us that it obviously doesn't need to work as advertised.

For me, the risk of shutting off all these "features" vastly outweighs their vague, confusing benefits. I still haven't been able to figure out exactly how my life benefits from having an iCloud account.
