Hey guys,
I have kind of an abnormal question. Would it be wise to update to 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4 and jailbreak tethered in anticipation of 6.1 coming out soon? The reason I ask this is because apple (as we know) is only going to sign 6.0.1 for a limited time. I have iOS 5.1.1 untethered right now and a tethered jailbreak wouldnt affect me. I have SHSH's saved for that iPhone up to 6.0.1 right now in both Cydia and Tinyumbrella. What do you guys think?

if you have shsh blobs saved you can always do it latter even after Apple stops signing it. That is part of the purpose of saving the blobs. You will also have a 6.1 tethered jb shortly after it's release because of the lime1rain exploit. a non tethered version well that's another question. ;)

I'll tell you that I had my iPhone 4 successfully jb on 6.0, and could not jb on 6.0.1 without constant boot loop cycles plaguing the phone. I was unable to repair and had to restore since I hadn't saved blobs. Never could tether jb 6.0.1...

Good luck!

Hmm makes me want to stay at 5.1.1 now. I dont know maybe I will try it with my ipod touch first and if I cant get it to go then I wont feel pissed at myself for updating and having to try and downgrade (which I have only successfully done once).

Hello! I have an iPhone 4 and it's not jailbroken and it's running 6.0

How did you jailbreak yours?

thank you!

Redsn0w. Be advised, it'll be tethered (need a computer if it dies or you turn it off).

Yes, redsn0w worked magnificently for a tethered 6.0 jailbreak. Even with all the tweaks that aren't ready for iOS 6 the jb remained stable and was always recoverable.. not with 6.0.1 in my experience!~
