Hello,

I recently installed redsn0w's latest semi-tethered jailbreak on ios 6.0 using 0.9.15b2. Every time I boot tether, it either fails or starts up in safe mode. Even if it doesn't, only some apps work while others don't (same with the tweaks I installed). I've checked their IOS6 compatibility so its definitely an issue with the jailbreak. I tried re-installing the jailbreak to no avail.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks

Redsn0w is a tethered jailbreak, not semi-tethered. If you installed some version of the semi-tether, that might be the issue.
And a failure to boot is likely because of some hack you have installed.
After the jailbreak, the requirement is to immediately JustBoot tethered,
if you do that as mandated and the phone boots correctly, then the jailbreak is installed correctly.
After all, if the jailbreak didn't take correctly, you would not of been able to install Cydia hacks.

From what Ive read b2 allows you to start it back up without Cyida, mail, and Safari. Thats what it was.

No I didn't install anything else. I just jailbroken and then booted tethered right away. After that, I started installing all the normal stuff (winterboard, SB, small tweaks relating weather and seeing the battery pic when charging) but nothing worked.

Now I reinstalled 6.0 and it won't even jailbreak. It said it did but it won't boot tethered without saying either exploit failed or some other plist error. I tried to jailbreak again and same errors. And before anyone asks, I do know how to enter DFU mode. I've done it a million times.

I have been using that list for weeks.
1st lesson of a new jailbreak on a new iOS, make sure the hacks are compatible.

Notice I referred to an incompatible hack you installed as the issue in my initial response.

Glad you figured it out :D

Yea sorry, Its not often I upgrade. But I am having problems still even after I delete it. Tweaks dont work and dont show up in settings. I am now reinstalling everything (for a third time!). I tried rebooting tethered and still nothing.

Just in case I accidentally download something that causes problems again: Is there any way to fix the glitchy problems after you've removed the bad tweak?

Thanks

A more pressing question for me actually is: How long does it take for these apps to get fixed? Will that spreadsheet update or do I have to look elsewhere to find out how long its taking for these apps to get up and running... and how likely is it that tweaks become useless altogether because they never are able to integrate into the new OS?

Problem Solved

I've installed a hack for a game. Uninstalled the game and worked again.
So, do not install game hacks if in a tethered version.
