I upgraded my jailbroken iPhone 4 tonight only to turn it into my new paper weight.

I backed everything up, put the iPhone into DFU mode, did a fresh install of iOS 6 and it was all going fine as a normal iPhone and after playing with it a bit before I was going to Jailbreak the phone just went to a black screen with the loading icon (just like when your battery dies) and the iPhone turned off, my battery was at 100% and plugged in to my Mac mini when this happened. I figured maybe it was a battery icon bug and my battery was actually dead so I didn't think much of it and turned the phone back on and it wont leave the Apple Boot Logo no matter what I do, it simply will not load.

I put my iPhone back into DFU mode and restored again, it all went fine until the Apple logo appears on the screen with the progress bar below it and then again it all goes away to that loading logo in the middle and the phone turns off.

I've been looking this up and trying different methods of restoring my iPhone for hours and have given up at this point. I don't know what to do from this point but my iPhone will not load or restore to anything passed the Apple logo.

Any suggestions?
It's a first generation iPhone 4 with the bad antenna before the white iPhone was released if that helps.

I'm not sure in what situation your phone is i believe it stuck between DFU and boot to no where.
try and press the power + home button (do it couple of times if it dosen't work) and let it load until you see it in iTunes.

it should then boot up to the OS or stuck on connect to iTunes logo.

disconnect the cable from your phone from the pc/mac. hold the home button with the phone off for about 10 secs or so, plug the cable into the phone until you see the itunes logo if no other methods work. other than that i have no other answers. give it try.

Battery failure ?

Have you tried charging it on wall charger for 3-4 hours

I might also mention I have done about 10 restores to iOS6 on an iPhone4.
All have gone just as they should. So there is some other issue with your device.

Are you sure you are in DFU mode? The screen is completely blank and iTunes recognizes an iPhone in Recovery Mode? If your phone has anything on the screen when iTunes recognizes it in Recovery Mode, it is not in DFU mode but regular Recovery Mode.

If you are in DFU and it's failing to restore, then the issue is probably hardware. Could be battery, as dhlizard suggests, but it could also be the cable or the USB port/driver on your computer.

To be on the safe side, I would try again on a different computer with a different sync cable and a freshly-downloaded copy of iOS 6.0. Also make sure the computer is running the latest version of iTunes. If it still persists, then you have hardware failure of some kind on your phone and your next stop is the Genius Bar.

I gave up for the night and just left my phone at home, by morning it was stone dead and I plugged it in with the wall charger until it turned on and it came on with the iTunes restore logo so I plugged it into the computer from the wall charger and restored, and wouldn't you know it, works perfect.

Now the down side is my battery won't even last a whole day so by the time I'm off work it's dead and I gotta go home to charge it before I go out. I also get horrible cell signal and even with the same signal as before I get slower speedtest results. Less then 1mbps per the usual 5-7mbps

I also can no longer play Real Racing 2, my phone just crashes and returns to the home screen and my keyboard can't keep up with my typing because the phone is so slow now. This reminds me of my old iPhone 3G when I upgraded to iOS 4.. Time to get a new phone since this one is garbage now.

Can't play games, Apps won't load because the connection just times out, I drop conection so I can't even make calls, iOS 6 ruined my phone :(
I wish I could get iOS 5.1.1 back but because I did a fresh I stall I don't have my backed up SSH Blob so I'm screwed.

Cydia automatically saves your SHSH blobs on its server. You can fetch the blobs using redsn0w.

I agree, except for the 3D mapping with the hack for it to work on iPhone4
It takes quite some time for the maps to load, even on Wifi.
That is why Apple has decided to disable the 3D on iPhone4, too slow a processor.
But all else is good.
