Ever since upgrading to iOS 7.1.1 and jail breaking, my battery dies pretty quickly. I'm pretty knowledgeable and have done everything to try to resolve including adjusting background app refresh, tweaks etc. this is on an iPhone 4s. Any ideas?

Same here. Even before jail breaking my device it was very bad, I'm surprised apple didn't release a fix for it. It's so bad that I'd lose my jailbreak for a good fix.
My wife has the same issue with her 4S. I really think that Apple put junk code in the os to make older devices nun like crap and making you want a newer device.
i don't think they put junk code in my opinion, i think they just don't optimize the OS for older devices
I guess it's kinda the same thing. Not letting your device operate at its best in the hopes that you will get fed up and upgrade.
Also, the 1430mah isn't cutting it anymore. I have to carry a 5200mah power pack in my school bag from now on.
I'm still running my 4s on iOS 6 until I get my iphone 6 in September (wishful thinking). I had heard it affected the 4s battery life so I avoided. Ok so my screen and apps look retro but the phone works as smoothly as ever and battery drain not affected.
