It's quite obvious when you see Apple's 5C introductory video;

5C Intro

that the "Fisher Price" icon colours were actually designed to perfectly compliment the different 5C models.

That's all well and good and surprisingly it seems to work well.

But what are the chances of negative feedback from 5S owners, particularly businesses, leading to Apple offering a more professional look as a future upgrade / option?

It's possible . . .

I don't understand..if you want the professional look, get the 5S? I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at..

At it stands, the 5S still has;

- the dayglo pinky red Music icon that matches the 5C pinky red phone
- the luminous green phone, message and face time icons again matching a 5C
- the, "in your face" blue of App Store and Mail to match that corresponding colour
- even the new garish yellow text in notes as a nod to that ;)

Personally I'd like it to be a little less childish as has been mentioned before.

Now I've seen the 5C release video I get why they went down that route for the C series, but see no reason why they couldn't produce a more "high end" look for their flagship model.

Ah, I see.

No, I don't think so. If you use a dark or neutral background, the app icons don't really make the phone look childish at all. I'm a professional, and it looks fine to me.

I don't see them changing the icons depending on device.

On the Apple website , it says "iOS 7 designed to complement the iPhone 5S beautifully", so I doubt they are considering two versions.

The truth is a lot of companies and businesses are adopting the "Bring your own device" philosophy where employees can use their own personal phones or laptops for work. There is no such thing as "professional" looking.

What is professional looking? A Black phone with a boring drab UI?

Is a 5.8" Smartphone with a stylus that barely fits in your hand or pocket professional?

Is a Nextel push to talk phone professional?

the bottom line is it doesn't matter how the phone looks nor it's software as long as you can get work done with it.
