haha I know. But just to let the people know who are waiting for a Mac tool(not in the near future) for PanGu. I think, if you still need to jailbreak but waiting for a Mac release, this could be useful info ;)

I bet they have exploits up their sleeves but will wait for 8.2

The biggest challenge with the US-based jailbreakers was that they could not use Apple's code to create the exploit and be subject to lawsuits, whereas Pangu probably doesn't care.

With that said, I think Pangu will be releasing an iOS 8.2 or 8.3 jailbreak as well.

I'll be waiting for the stable mac version. Could you guys explain me how can I stop my iPhone from updating to 8.1.1 when It comes?

Should I download blobs or something like that?

Blobs have been useless for quite some time.

Simply just DO NOT UPDATE. Your phone will not update all by itself.

Problem is if something goes wrong when trying to JB and you have to restore, you will only be able to restore to 8.1.1

True, but thankfully this hasn't really been an issue for many JB iterations now.

You can force-boot into safe mode by holding the volume up button when booting, which should allow you to isolate your buggy/troublesome tweaks.

Of course, if you were to go into iFile or OpenSSH and delete lots of large files required by iOS, then yea, you'd be screwed and forced to restore (or to retrieve these from another source) - but that's just plain stupid.

iOS 8.1.1 BETA patched PanGu (confirmed by PanGu dev.)

I'm not talking about people already jailbroken in speaking about those trying to jailbreak. It is very possible their first attempt screws up (I.e. They do not follow directions and leave pass code on). If they have to restore after an unsuccessful attempt that may be screwed.

Thanks guys! That would be amazing. Can't think of an iDevice without it being Jailbroken.

Anyway, I'm quite confident Pangu will release a jailbreak for 8.1.1 :)

They could, but that would be a huge waste of an exploit.

Nah, they'll wait for 8.2.

It's likely due out by January.

I'm pretty happy with my 7.1.x jailbroken devices... but I am also intrigued by some iOS 8 features.... ahhhhhhh decisions!

And once 8.1 stops being signed...

Has any info been released w/re to (or would anyone care to make a educated guess based on the avg amt of time between the beta and public release of past iOS updates) approximately when that might be/about how much time we are probably looking at before Apple stops signing 8.1?

Sometimes a few hours, sometimes a few days. Also depends on if they have another mishap like they did with 8.0.1 which I don't think will happen again. Definitely recommend to do it ASAP to avoid getting stuck trying to restore and not being able to complete it because they stopped signing for it.
