Hey guys, what happens if I jailbreak my iPhone 6+ then:
1. back it up
2. erase the contents of the phone
3. restore from back up

Will the jailbreak still be located somewhere in the phone or will it be COMPLETELY removed?

This is because I tend to restore and backup my iPhone quite a bit and I have a feeling that at one stage in the future, I will not want the jailbreak anymore. In that case, I don't want to keep any jailbreak files/savings/tweaks saved onto the backup file when restoring my iphone afresh.

Cheers

I am sure others will respond who know more.

From what I have read if you erase then restore from backup (iTunes backup) the JB will be gone but their can be some files left behind, stuff like app preferences and the like.

If you erase but restore from a backup from the cloud then I think all of the JB is gone because the cloud does not backup any of the JB app files.

Just remember that you do not want to use erase from your phone if you are JB, only do that through iTunes.

Cheers mate, really appreciate the response.

Wasn't aware of what you just mentioned but it will definitely help me out!
