I have an Iphone6 and i currently use iCloud for backups which is basically for my photos. If I were to jailbreak would it be ok to still use iCloud on iOS 8 jailbreak or no?

yes, it is fine. although most people recommend an itunes backup before jailbreaking (since icloud backup restores can only happen after a fresh restore)
