General iOS 8 wifi fix coming to Cydia?

I'm curious what they mean by it being temporary.
Hopefully it will be less "temporary" than resetting network settings.
They say a "permanent" fix will require a "kernel patch". Does that mean only an iOS update will fix it? Or can a kernel patch be applied by a Cydia package once they figure it out?
Apologies if this is basic stuff, I know only enough about these things to be dangerous ;-)

I stand corrected! You guys are lucky. Did iOS 8.1.1 fix your wifi problems, or did you simply never have wifi problems to begin with?
I'm enjoying my 8.1 jailbreak too much to update!
 
WiFi issues here, too. Both iPhone 6 and iPad rMini+cellular.

iPhone sometimes refuses to download from App Store or connect to server in Safari. Full signal showing for WiFi.

iPad typically refuse to load YouTube videos in app, hangs around the 1:30 mark, etc. No issues with App Store or Safari that I've noticed. Again, full signal showing for WiFi.

iPad seems to act fine while tethering to the phone.

Both seem to be completely fine if on cellular.

NO issues before JB. Note these issues seem random. Respring/reboot/airplane mode toggle doesn't fix anything on iPad. Sometimes it acts up, most times it doesn't. On iPhone I usually press 'retry' on failed app download, or switch to cellular for d/l then back to wifi when done.


iOS 8.1 on both, Pangu 1.4 and all Cydia files/substrate etc. updated.

Every wifi. Getting intermittent disconnects. It only loses connection for a second, but it's enough to interrupt streaming or a download in progress.
"Forgetting" the network and re-joining fixes it until the next time I come back to that network. I've just learned to live with it. When all else fails, lower your expectations!

Got it replaced once, didn't help. But as a consolation, the replacement phone is SIM unlocked and now that I'm jailbroken it would be just my luck that the next replacement would be locked, have 8.1.1, and that Apple stops signing 8.1 the day I get it!

It appears to be a software issue, as 8.1.1 *does* correct it for the most part. (My r Mini had it on 8.1 and doesn't on 8.1.1; iPhone 6 is still on 8.1 and still has it.) I'm hoping the "temporary" fix gives us at least some relief until the next JB.
 
My Wifi issue is that it won't stay connected to 5ghz and switches to 2.4ghz. Same router I was using with my i5 that stays connected to 5ghz without any issues.
