Downloaded and installed iOS 9.0 yesterday - no issues during install, but don't have the new features (sketch, checklist, etc) in the native notes app. Also noticed the ""On my iPhone" account is greyed out in settings-> notes. I do have iCloud notes switched on.

Been searching these forums and the web. Any ideas?

It will prompt you eventually to upgrade notes. You have to click YES. Not sure what triggers this. Try restarting your phone and then going into the notes app.

Upgrade prompt when? Didn't see during install and haven't been prompted (that I noticed) yet. I have done a restart... will try restart again and go straight into notes to see if that does it. Any guess why I the "on my iPhone" account is greyed out? Connected with the upgrade you mentioned?

first time I opened my notes app it gave me a screen asking me if I wanted to upgrade notes. Are you 100% sure it's not the new version of notes already?

New features weren't available. Tried resetting - no go. Then I added iCloud drive and now have the features, but only on the "on my iPhone" account. At least it's a step in the right direction, but shouldn't they be available on all accounts?

Notes shows up for my work exchange account but I usually don't use that feature.

I'll respond to this issue on your thread, Abe. When I installed iOS 9 on my Mini 2, I DID receive the notification asking me if I wanted to upgrade Notes. Yes. Voila, sketch and camera icons and new look to list of past notes.

I never received the notification when I installed iOS 9 on my iPad Air 2. I've tried turning iPad off and on many times. Doesn't appear.

"on my iPad" Account is greyed out on both iPads so don't think that's the issue.

It's still greyed out on mine too, although I have a "on my iPhone" folder in notes. Sketches and all other features work on any note created in that folder, but not others...

Turning on iCloud drive and/or "on iPad" account didn't change anything for me. On my iPad Air 2, I was able to get all 4 icons (checklist, text format, camera and sketch) in split screen mode, but not in full screen mode (only camera and sketch show up). I submitted a bug report #22765293.

On the home screen of the notes app up by the top, a "Upgrade Notes" prompt appeared after I tried to save a page from Safari. Upgraded, but still only had new annotation features on the "On My iPhone" folder. Resetting AGAIN to see if that clears it up.

*** Nope, still only get the features on the "on my iPhone" folder notes.

Are you trying to use the new Notes features with Notes that are not associated with your primary iCloud account? If so that might be your issue:

"If you’re signed in to more than one iCloud Mail account on your iOS device or Mac and have notes syncing turned on, you can only use the new Notes features with your primary iCloud account. You can see your primary account in Settings > iCloud, or System Preferences > iCloud"
