ios 9.1 beta 5 - can't search within contacts

I notice that if I use the search function in my phone app or contacts app, I get zero results, but if i search in the homescreen search bar, I get the results I am looking for. Anyone else have this issue?

Works for me. Tried both in the phone app and the standalone contacts app (which I might have used twice in my life ). So, looks like your indexing has some sort of issue.

Might try hard reboot, beyond that may need a restore.

Had the same issue. I turned off/on again the visibility of some contact groups and now it's ok. But I think that you can only do that if you sync your contacts from more than one source

I have the same issue, really annoying when you are trying to call someone in a hurry.
