Download the full iOS 9 beta 5 ipsw and upgrade to it using iTunes.

I still find it odd that there is an iOS 9 beta that expired. I was under the impression that the recent betas (even some prior to iOS 9) no longer used expiration dates.

Like I said, enter DFU mode and click the restore button to return to 8.4.1.

..

People need to learn to keep their betas up to date...

like i said, ive already tried restoring to iOS 8.1.4, 9 Beta 4, and Beta 5. so what do I do?

I said above. Did you enter DFU mode before restoring?

this times 100. You can't just push the old OS to the phone. You have to enter DFU mode before restoring back to 8.4.1. Google iPhone DFU mode, you will find instructions on how to get it there. Then, connect to iTunes, and click restore.

Well, you can if you have the .ipsw, but it seems DFU will work more times than not.

hey everyone, just to clear things up I was in DFU mode but when tring to restore it gave me Error 11. So i did a little research and tried a couple things. One of those things were fixing the sg.apple.com host and that was the problem. So anyone else having this problem try fixing the sg.apple.com host file in terminal.

I just realized I didn't actually do a dfu restore to return to 8.4.1, I just alt selected the iTunes restore option and chose the 8.4.1 ipsw I downloaded. So I can confirm batting1000's point.

No. Public beta 3 is the same as the latest developer build (beta 5). Just be sure you update to the GM or the final public release when they come out. Public beta 3 will expire eventually but it's the last beta so it won't expire until after the GM is out.

i did the same thing as you from beta 2 back to 8.4, but none of my music library would load. plugging the phone into iTunes would show there was music on the device, but the phone showed no music available. had to reset it, and restore from backup, and everything was good as new. pushing an ispw straight to a device is not always a guarantee of a fully functional os.

It pretty much is. I've done it tens upon tens of times with several iOS devices I've owned throughout the years (iPods, iPads, and iPhones) and I've never had any issues.

How can there be music on the device if you restored it as new?

and now you're having issues, wondering why it didn't work this way. So...now you have had 1 issue. :D

There was no music on the device once it was restored, but it would allow me to add it. When I tried to push the .ipsw file straight to the device to downgrade, without using DFU mode, the existing music did not show up, nor would it allow me to transfer music from iTunes to the phone (iTunes would show the music greyed out, device showed blank). DFU mode to factory default, and restoring from backup cleared that up.

Could've had something to do with the whole expiration thing, something I've never encountered.
