iOS 9 - DiscoveryD or mDNSResponder

Good morning, as has been reported extensively on the web and here as well, Apple's DiscoveryD Networking Routine (DD) has been quite problematic for some and has created numerous Wi-FI issues. DD was ditched in OS X 10.10.4 in favor of the old mDNSResponder previously used with iOS 7 and Mavericks (easy to test on a Mac using Activity Monitor). I am aware that the iOS 9 Beta also ditched DD in favor of mDNSR.

iOS 9 is being released later today. Would someone more capable than me (easy) please confirm if the iOS 9 public release indeed ditched DD and reverted back to mDNSR as expected? I do not know how to do this. Thank you....

Yes. It has been confirmed multiple times that iOS 9 uses mDNSResopnder.

Confirmed that the final version has it? Just because something is in beta doesn't always mean it's there in the final version or there in the same way that it was in the beta.

Thanks to both for your responses, they are appreciated. C DM addressed my real question. I know that all the Betas ditched DD (mercifully!!!). Once the official iOS 9 is out later today I would appreciate an official confirmation that it does not include DD. I know the odds are 99% since it was not in the final Beta, however before I spout my mouth on the Apple ASC forum I would appreciate the confirmation. Can someone tell me how this can be done? My understanding is that it takes special software not available to me. It would suffice to me if someone that knows how can confirm. Thanks again.

My wife and I own 4 iOS devices, an iPad Air and an iPhone 5 each. Ever since iOS 8 came out with the "not ready for prime time" DiscoveryD our 4 devices could not have Bluetooth/Airdrop turned on without significantly degrading our download speeds (lower than 1 Mbps). With BT/AD off all 4 devices delivered full ISP download speeds as did my MBP and our two Dell PCs on W7 as well as old Toshiba on XP. The BT/AD issue was not there for us with iOS 7 which used mDNSResponder instead.

I installed iOS 9 on my iPad an hour ago and I am happy to report that for the first time in a year I can leave BT/AD on without degrading speeds. Therefore I strongly suspect that DiscoveryD has been replaced with the old mDNSR as was done in OS X Yosemite 10.10.4.

Can anyone confirm directly by looking into the iOS?

Thanks, C DM. It does appear that DD is no longer. On a previous post some users indicated that they could indeed confirme that DD was gone in the Betas. I do not know how they did this, perhaps with some specialized software or perhaps their devices were jailbroken. Do you or any one here know how to confirm for sure?

Can anyone tell me how I can test my iPad to confirm that DiscoveryD is gone? Does the iPad has to be jailbroken or is there some other method?
