"Working" is always a relative term with third-party keyboards. Still plenty of bugginess (try locking your phone in Messages while the keyboard is open. On unlock it will rever to OS keyboard every time.) In fact, the release notes for iOS 9 GM specifically state that "The setting to use a third-party keyboard as the default keyboard for text input is not always respected."

I noticed that quick reply does not work with third party keyboards, I am using swype. Are you seeing quick reply working with your third party keyboard?

on Touchpal, quick reply is always with iOS keyboard and could never figure out how to use touchpal.

I wouldn't even mind the IOS keyboard, all i get is a blank screen where the keyboard is and when i click the text field it just pops up "paste". I disabled quick reply for now as it has always been ridiculous when it comes to third party keyboards.

I love how in the change log for 9.1 b1 it says "3rd party keyboards don't appear in sharing sheets and action sheets." as a known issue, and for the solution it says "Use the Apple keyboard." :p

I like SwiftKey a lot, but it always ended up being laggy on any Android phone I had, and on my 6 Plus when I tried it.

I'm more than satisfied with the default apple keyboard. it never lags.

The only gripe I have with Swiftkey is that it crashes sometimes, apart from that very fluid and much much better than the stock iOS keyboard when it comes to predictions, especially for multi-language typists like me.

That's actually one of the few ways SwiftKey works better on iOS. Keypresses have always had a nasty tendency to lag on Android – It's a SwiftKey issue, as many other third-party keyboards have no such issue. SwiftKey on iOS has no keypress lag, it just has lots of other issues like crashiness, switching to default, keyboard, etc, pretty much all of which are problems with Apple's API.

Apple's API does not allow for third-party keyboards to be active when the phone is locked, so no keyboard can do this. If you try to use quick reply from the notification dropdown when the phone is unlocked, it will work properly with any third-party keyboard.

On my iPhone 6, running 9.1 PB1, when I open a photo and try to send it to someone via iMessage, no keyboard shows up if I'm using a third party keyboard (tested only with Swype and Touchpal). Can anyone else confirm that?

EDIT: I just realized this is probably what Apple are talking about in the changelog quoted above. "I love how in the change log for 9.1 b1 it says "3rd party keyboards don't appear in sharing sheets and action sheets." as a known issue, and for the solution it says 'Use the Apple keyboard.' :p"
