Well done, thanks! I'm still running iOS7 on my ipad 2s and sounds like I probably will continue to do so.
If you don't mind security flaws, then its probably the best way to go, until Apple releases the inevitable performance fix releases.

I have an iPad 2 as well - followed through all updates and can see it getting slower, but then again... it is old hardware. Sure, it'll run it - but, not like the new ones. I went as far as a clean install and I have to say, it didn't much matter. From iOS 8+, it's a workload on it. Just getting time to upgrade. After all, it's 5 years old (?). Most computers show their age by then, too.
