Hello all. I'm excited for all the cool new features in iOS 9. So when do you think we will see the public beta? With a new iOS 9 seed due for Apple Music tomorrow, does anyone think we could see that seed as beta 3 AND a public beta as soon as Wednesday? If not, when are you guys thinking?

Eddy Cue stated on Twitter that a new seed of iOS 9 will be released tomorrow ready for Apple Music. Whether it is iOS 9 beta 3 or iOS 9 Public Beta 1? However during WWDC, Apple stated that the iOS 9 Public Beta will be released some time in July.

Usually along with b3, unless b3 is released this week for :apple: Music, in which case along with b4.

Should be 4th Monday from b1, which is Jul 6 according to historic pattern.
But b2 came 2 days late so we'll have to see.

I think that maybe the seed will be released on Wednesday and it could be the public beta cause it'd be July 1st

He said a new seed will be released for Apple Music, he didn't say tomorrow.

Most likely will be tomorrow though so everyone on board day one. Then the public beta will land 2 or 3 weeks later with beta 4.

Makes the most sense based on what we know so far.

They don't usually release two versions of iOS on the same day though.

Well, there are first times for things as well. It wasn't until just very recently Apple never had more than one beta version out at one time, but some months ago they started putting out 8.3 betas while 8.2 was still in beta (if I'm recalling the versions correctly). It's not to say that it's likely to happen, but given everything that's happening with this release and new service who knows.

I still haven't received an invite, but upon the release of the iOS 9 public beta, they will open things up more right? I already "Signed Up" but haven't been able to access the public betas yet, so am I good and just need to wait and see or is there something different I need to do in order to become eligible?

Anyway, I think public beta 1 will come alongside beta 4 this time around. Beta 3 is an odd beta, off the regular cycle. And it won't be coming out in July like how Apple stated.

It doesn't sound like they've started the public beta for iOS 9, and when they do (whenever that will be, but supposedly at some point in July) it's hard to say if everyone who signed up will get an invite or only some portion of those users.

I'm hoping that :apple: will ninja us today and give it to us. I'm just on the edge because I want it so much yet I don't know when they will release it.

Ok seeing as this is the first go round with a major iOS on the beta seed program none of us really know what to expect. But what are peoples' thoughts on the public beta being released next week along side the 3rd developer beta?

public beta "hype" is funny when "dev betas" have been open to all for..a long time now, want it so much go try it..its not like apple doesnt know or "forgot" to lock it to dev udids for all this time..

and we already had a public beta, surely this one will be the same process..install some profile thingy that tells ur device to look at a different server for ota etc, then some people will associate that settings profile with "battery drain" & "my privacy my privacy what if apple is stealing it secretly!?"

Not everyone was allowed to be part of that last "public beta" it was by invitation only. I had already been on the public beta for OSX and wasn't allowed in. And the developer betas yes have been open to all but you have to pay to get access to them so for some they may not want to go that route.

But if you were a part of the iOS beta program for 8.3 and 8.4, you should be invited for iOS 9 right?

Yes but not many people were. They didn't allow a huge number of people into that Beta.

I didn't get an invite to 8.3 or 8.4 but had all the public betas no trouble. It was a matter of getting the profile. The only thing I could not do was use the reporting tool. When I tried it said I was not part of the beta program. Otherwise, everything worked. I only just removed the profile to update to 8.4 final and have signed up for 9 testing and will see what happens. No invite, no issue. I will invite myself, ha.

I tried to install a profile myself on iOS 8.3 beta and was told I wasn't part of the program and thus not able to install it.

How did you get the profile if you weren't invited?

I'm curious as to whether the profile enabling 8.3 and 8.4 public beta access will be exactly the same as the iOS 9 public beta profile?

Ran across a link here that someone posted. It was in Italian but had a link on the page you opened with your phone and tada. Normally I would pass on the risk but there were many before me saying it was good so I tried it and no issues.

Just register yourself and you are good to go.
Even if you register for the public program that doesn't guarentee that you get access to the profile on Apples website in order to update to the public beta. It's a "closed" public beta, or "invite only." I've been signed up since the middle of the 8.3 public testing and nothing.
