Title says it all really.

As an iTunes Match customer now signed up to Apple Music via iTunes 12.2 I am now unable to play any of my music offline, even if I sync from iTunes and then merge with the iCloud music library.

Anyone else noticed this?

Also Apple Music half works as in any stuff I download for offline listening on the Mac also shows up on my music list of I switch to show all rather than offline only, so that's one thing I guess.

Oh well less than a week to wait until this is fixed (hopefully) lol.

If I didn't love a challenge I wouldn't run Beta software lol.

This is what I am met with if I put the iPhone in airplane mode. This is with music sync'd via iTunes and iCloud music disabled.

Offline playback worked perfect until they switched on Apple Music.

Your post just adds one more reason for me NEVER try to use apple music.

Streaming music is not a good idea for regular listening, especially there are still areas not accessible for global internet (including China).

Now you may need to use third party apps to play offline music, and wait for next beta iOS 9. I am waiting for it as well since I want to extensively remove apple music from my device, and from iTunes.

Experiencing the exact same thing. Thanks for the djay hint! Was worried I'd be doing some very silent stints on the tube for the next week or so.

If only there was a release version that wasn't in beta that a) worked and b) wasn't a beta build.

So the answer to your question is in the error, you're in airplane mode. This is a beta, these things are what are needed to be reported. So please report this error. If not, this thread is pointless.

I can't report a bug to Apple as I'm not a dev, I went down the UDID and dodgy download route until the Public beta. If I could report it I would, I reported quite a few bugs with iOS and Yosemite builds in the past.

I know this is a beta hence the light hearted tone of my post, I know bugs are to be expected its all part of the fun of running beta software.

And those who want to get on their high horse with me for using a beta when I'm not a dev then thats your choice but I'm not the first and certainly not the last to do so. I only created this thread to see if others were suffering the same issue and if a workaround could be found until they update to B3

You can still report bugs here.

How exactly do you define a 'proper beta'?
Wait until performance and battery life is approximately stable enough to reduce my effort on guessing if this is related to performance or battery when encountering a bug, although I know only a few numbers of bugs would presumably related to performance or battery issue.

And performance and battery are just only two factors I will consider when deciding to report issue as a bug or just ignore it.

For example, in thus current beta, I can say it breaks performance for many apps, rendering them occasionally unusable or crash. But I cannot say "Apple, your beta crashes app xxx and you should address it" simply because this is an early beta software. If I count such as a bug, then bug reports would be a little bit too many. In the previous beta 1 of iOS 9, we say it has serious battery life issue. This is simple because software does something which noticeably drain battery in an accelerated rate. I may report it.

I could realise my explanation doesn't make much sense. Yes....

my issue is even weirder. i can play songs i synched before i got Apple Music for 2 seconds before it stops and the song disappears from the iPhone. Guess we will just have to wait for iOS 9b3 next week to hopefully fix all that. Thank god for Spotify in the meantime or i wouldnt be able to listen to anything without streaming from mobile data

Disable "Music Available Offline" under the Artist/Title... toggle; this will resolve this issue. Unfortunately shows all music not just that on device, but prevents it from wiping it immediately. Til Beta 3 hopefully.

EDIT: This will also return the disappeared music to your library :)

This workaround did not work for me. The other thing is that offline works fine on my iPad Air 2, but not on my 6+. Ready for b3 to get the whole experience of AM.

This thread is about an Apple Music bug, which you would report to Apple. Why would you report crashes of non Apple apps to them?

Every beta is a 'proper' beta. Anyone that takes battery life into account prior to a GM release is going down a pointless route. Only the non developer fanboys that install the betas to be cool & trendy care (and post) about that.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried the offline music toggle and turned off iCloud music library

Offline playback is working again for me now, not sure if its because I now have a media logging profile installed from Apples Bug Reporting team or not, however it is working and hears how i did it.

Try to play songs in airplane mode and eventually they will all disappear (it takes a few crashes of music app/closing opening again for them all to go)
Turn off iCloud music and sync from iTunes to put the music back, play a song in airplane mode to test it works.
Noe turn on iCloud music library and choose merge.
Turn on Airplane mode and voila (for me at least offline working as normal)
