I’m about to (shock) spend money on an ad Blocker.

I was thinking of Adblock Pro, but I saw that some of the reviews were bought. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I also read some adblockers don’t work in apps, and others do.

I want NO ads and NO tracking. Can someone with knowledge recommend something?

Apple has banned apps that block ads in apps besides Safari, so you're not going to find one that does that anymore.

I use 1Blocker and is very happy. It's free to try out (1 set of filters at a time), you should try it out. (It also syncs via iCloud to their Mac version, which I love, although you need to buy the Mac version as well).

****** VPN-based blockers, that are a huge security hole, are not allowed anymore. Which means blockers are constrained to only work in Safari.

I second 1Blocker. Once I learned to configure it to my needs it was great. Not sure it blocks all JavaScript but it has a lot of options.

You can use Adguard DNS Blocking if you want to block ads everywhere, safari and apps.

https://adguard.com/en/adguard-dns/overview.html

It works pretty good most of the time.

You can put their dns links in your phone, or in your home router, so everything in your network is adfree.

Nope can Block YouTube or Facebook so far. Facebook can be avoided using Friendly. YouTube is tight :-(

If they use their own DNS, surely that presents a privacy issue?
