For many years, I used the Google Chrome Remote Desktop iOS app and corresponding macOS app for occasional control of my Mac mini while outside of my home. Of course that app started behaving badly with Catalina, and now I get a warning on the macOS version "This app is no longer supported". Looks like they want you to use a Chrome web app on iOS? Can't really tell.

Seems a shame there is no native way for an iPhone/iPad to control a macOS screen, a la the native Mac Screen Sharing app.

What are my best alternatives? Thought about Team Viewer. I'm looking for something lightweight and free.

One option is VNC Viewer.
$40/year? I don’t mind paying for apps, but that seems steep for my purposes.

EDIT: ah looks like it’s free for standard use. Will check it out, thanks!
