I've had this issue since iOS 8.3, and was hoping it was finally fixed in iOS 9.0.

The app store keeps thinking that apps need updates. The badge won't go away, and the updates page won't delist the 'updates' despite the apps already being completely up-to-date via iTunes.

I've tried and failed to at least find a way to disable the badge on the app store icon, so I no longer notice the defect.

Anyone have this same problem, know what the cause is, or how to fix it?

My App Store is briefly showing "Update" for 7 apps that legitimately need updating -- then the buttons all change to "Open". Looks like a bug to me. I recommend sitting tight.

I'm seeing this exact same behavior right now. 12 available updates -- went to "Open" but badge still shows 12. Even rebooted, no change. Now I'm seeing "Update" again but when I click the update, it spins for a millisecond and then goes back to "Update". I think the App Store is hosed with all the updates. :/
