I am looking for some guidance here.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 16.1.1, but noticed the behavior in iOS 15.x.x. The problem is I have a number of apps that are used to monitor air purifiers, toothbrush, shower head etc. that require you to log in but have an option marked stay logged in which I check. However after a period of around 3 days to a week, some of the apps log out and you have to login again. One or two of the apps do not allow you to store the credentials in the keychain, so it means searching for the credentials and laboriously logging in again. Not all apps do this e.g. Dyson seems fine but my other air purifier app logs me out after around 3 days irrespective of the setting for 'keep me logged in'.

The question I have is this a problem with the app or is there a setting in iOS that controls this behavior?

I cannot find any option in the apps themselves or the setting under Settings in iOS. Frankly this behavior makes them useless to me (I am not going to log in to the toothbrush app eveyrtime I brush my teeth for example). The behavior seems to be restricted to these types of app as I do not have the problem with MS 365, Fastmail, Mail etc.

Any guidance that you may have would be gratefully received.

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the apps? I've had this issue with iRobot's app before, and doing that fixed it for me. Otherwise, there is no iOS setting that controls this behavior. It's either a bug with the app, or it's just how it's designed to work.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have and it made no difference. It looks as if it is an app issue. Funnily enough our iRobot app is one of the few that behaves as expected.
