Since the update to iOS17 where autocorrect was 'improved', my iPhone has been driving me absolutely mad. My native language is not supported in my keyboard language settings, and as a result I do not use autocorrect. Since iOS17, with autocorrect turned OFF, the keyboard STILL replaces certain words. The only suggested solutions online are to reset keyboard setting, which only makes the problem worse as the keyboard unlearns all previously learned words.

The keyboard also refuses to learn certain words, tapping on the unknown word in the suggested tab does not make the keyboard remember the word. It will replace it with the english word it mistakenly believes is correct. This does not happen all the time, only with certain words, which tells me this behavior is buggy.

I would think that having the setting off means a word should never be replaced. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you, this does seem to solve the problem. I believe turning off "Show predictions inline" is the appropriate fix. Is this something new?

I have always had predictive text on, as when I do type in English I like to double check certain words. Thanks again.
