Hey,

So I'm trying to change the location of my iOS backups, at the moment they're running to the standard location of the disk drive but I'd like them to be backed up onto my external.

My external is listed as Samsung_T5 in locations on finder view. I've followed this guide (https://www.imore.com/how-move-your-iphone-or-ipad-backups-external-hard-drive) however it doesn't seem to do anything, terminal responds with "file exists" but when I go to backup[ through iTunes, it just backs it up to the normal location?

Anyone able to help?

Thanks

I came across this thread while researching how to do the same thing. I have an iCloud backup but like to keep copies on my computer. They are eating up 428GB of my 1TB SSD so I'd like to get them moved. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Yea find the folder in your Mac where the iCloud folder is on your Mac to right click it and make an alias spoof that folder. Then move the iCloud folder to a external and leave the alias in the same folder with the iCloud folder location to fool the iCloud setup!
