iOS Better Low Battery Concept

We all know Low Battery warnings suck, interrupt what you are doing with an awful popup. Like this:

I made a concept of what for me is a way to go.

Oh well, I just wish Apple would implement this.

Beautiful concept and maybe you can include the way to dismiss it? Press anywhere outside that notification box would be an excellent idea.

Isn't that the whole idea - to get the user to sit up and take notice that his phone is indeed running out of juice. Of course it should be disruptive and rude.

It is like complaining that car horns are too loud. They have to be, else the very pedestrians they were intended to warn wouldn't be alerted and move to safety!

Well, someone suggested that it will not go away unless you tap the area outside the message. Though I would like to add some notification sounds to even remind the use that he/she is low on battery. This is less obstrusive but will remind you much better than a banner. I could add that it could be possible that whatever you are doing will not be interrupted.

I have two problems with the current system:

1. When I dimiss the warning it comes back in a few minutes. I don't want it to come back until 10% and 5%.

2. When I finally give in, and plug it in to recharge, the battery graphic shows that I am really at 40-50%.

Your #1 can be fixed with a Full restore. No backup.

Your #2 can be fixed by properly calibrating your battery at least once a month.

I will add that the OP's idea is particularly interesting. Brilliant concept but I also like relying on the invasive nature of the current setup.

I really like this idea.

It's annoying when you're playing a game like Angry Birds, lining up a shot and suddenly you get a pop up warning you about the battery.

The OP's design is very good.

I have the same issue...I've had it remind me of "20% battery life" several times in the same day! It's like the battery is fluctuating up and down and it always has to remind me when it passes 20%.

I doubt a full restore would do anything...this has happened on my brand new iPod touch 4G ever since I got it a month ago. I think it's just a flaw in the way iOS reports remaining battery life.

You could probably go back to the old "Alert" version like the new Notifications.

Actually I'm the same way. The battery meter gets red when it's low. That's enough for me.

I absolutely hate the 20 percent warning as well. I would love a very simple fix: In settings just create a toggle called "low battery warning ON/OFF" and we are done.

The problem with that if you do stuff with the status bar out (like playing games) you will be NEVER notified about low battery and it goes on until your battery dies and most likely you're gonna lose your progress.
