When I (OTA) update my iPhone’s version of iOS and the phone reboots sometimes I will get a little gray notification on my lock screen stating: “your iPhone has been updated to iOS 11.x”...

Other times, I get nothing. Just the normal lock screen. I’ll go to check for a software update and it will tell me that the software is up to date. Just no confirmation pop up stating that I was updated.

Has anyone else noticed this? Any rhyme or reason behind when or why the popup shows/doesn’t show?

I’m under the impression the message appears when the update installs automatically.

So I manually updated my
iPhone X and my wife’s iPhone 7 yesterday from 11.2.2 to 11.2.5. The only difference was, my wife’s update was already “downloaded” so I just had to tap “install” whereas my phone had to “download and install”

My wife’s gave the pop up update confirmation box upon reboot, but mine did not.

I manually update all my devices within hours of release and I’ve had the confirmation popup display inconsistently also

Thanks for the details. So, sometimes you’ll see it on reboot, other times it will just be the lock screen with nothing. Am I understanding you correctly?
