I assume that almost all of you here have an idea about video or web conferencing online. In lieu of that, I want to know its compatibility features. Does it work reliably with any portable internet devices like a Mac or any IOS device?

Hello! I also assume that almost all video conferencing software is compatible with any kind of devices like iOS, Android and also Windows. :)

I know that skype is available on phones - I have it on my iphone - other than skype - I wonder if apps like gotomeeting and omnijoin are available also - are the apps free for these? hmmm ....

Various options exist. You can visit the websites for different services like that and see what they offer as far as iOS and/or macOS options.

I have tried Whatsapp, Viber and Kakao too, and yes they are very similar with Skype. I think Viber is much user-friendly too.

OmniJoin, however is being used for a larger group of people. Probably, it cost something too due to the exclusivity that it can offer.
