This comment which appears on Asymco's recent graph of iOS's success makes a good point: the halo effect of iOS devices sold will naturally increase the sales of Macs in the future. And since it's not only mums, dads, and teenagers who use iOS devices, surely this halo effect would apply to serious PC users to some extent.
If they release the next Mac Pro with better (or even the same) specs to pro-level PCs, those users may buy in to the Apple ecosystem, if only for a superior designed machine.
