I have used iCloud Photo Library since it was available. Because I have a huge photo library (~100GB), I have always used the "Optimize iPhone Storage" option on my phone. In previous versions of iOS, this meant that typically older pictures would be removed, leaving only the thumbnails, while the most recent pictures would remain on the phone for easy access and sharing.

Since the iOS 11 update, though, my most recent pictures and videos are nearly immediately removed from my phone, sometimes within seconds of taking them (I presume as soon as the full version is uploaded to iCloud), despite having 10+ GB free storage on my phone. This means that I take a photo or video, then within minutes try to share in iMessage or post on Facebook, the photo/videos have to re-download.

The same thing happens on my wife's phone, again despite her having 15+ GB of storage.

Anyone else seeing this?
