- iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 14.2
- Instagram Version 165.0

Inside the Instagram app you can view your “login activity” which is tracked with precise location down to the city.

View by:
- Go to Settings
- Select Security
- Select Login Activity

Now, inside your iPhones location services Instagram is not listed as an application. Nor is location services listed inside the Instagram app under iOS system settings app list.

View iOS Location Services by:
- Go to Settings
- Select Privacy
- Select Location Services
- Search for Instagram

View Instagram App iOS System Settings by:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and find “Instagram”
- Select Instagram

I’m not shocked Instagram is tracking our login activity and idk what else without giving the consumer the ability to disable inside the iOS settings.

I believe information of that nature (given that it exists for all kinds of sites and services) is often based on network information, like the IP address.
