Hi,

I have updated my iPad Pro 5th Gen. to iOS 7 iPadOS 18. So far so good.

I daily use my iPad to connect to my NAS via the Files App (in German: "Dateien", I am not sure what the correct English name is) ) using SMB and to play a video file stored on my NAS.

Until now, I then moved the file I just played into another folder on my NAS ("Played files") by simply touching and dragging it.

This does no longer work with iOS 18. At the bottom of the Files App there is a status line which says "write protection".

I now have to switch to my Mac to perform this simple file operation.

Is it only me to observe this strange behavior (and loss of functionality) or is this a new "feature"? How do I activate the former state and open the NAS without write protection?

Thanks a lot for any hints and recommendations!

Greetings from Germany
