Well, the renaming would make sense. But didn't they pay bucket load of cash to Cisco for that name? Well, I suppose they got what they wanted out of that "investment".

Wow, how old is the 6s? Is it the longest supported iDevice as of yet (vs the iPad 2, iPad Air 2)?

I hinted this back during the new ipad os naming, I have the feeling that even under the same os number some features will be missing for some devices than others and so the naming scheme will be used as a way to say Ipad only features or iphone only features

I think they were going to rename it to coincide with an announcement of their new AR platform, but that product has been delayed. So there is no need to rename it so that people don't get confused with eyeOS.
