Apple!!
How the HELL can you upgrade the native Notes app and completely ignore iOS' native Mail application?! Like OSX/MacOSX's native Mail application it's FAR TOO BASIC!
Sure there are a few alternatives ... especially Microsoft's iOS Outlook for corporate email (yet that app sends data back to Microsoft without stating WHAT exactly is being sent: no ideal for corporations).
1 thing that iOS Mail does right is it's simplicity of layout BUT therein lies it's faults:
- Mailboxes / Folders & Sub-Folders in particular.
Many of us have a file structure, call it what you will mostly sourced from corporate working environments or file system habits from our desktop computers for decades now. Unfortunately for iOS Mail on Exchange connected mailboxes too many of us have over 20/50 sub-folders in various tree structures.
> why can't we collapse these sub-folders until required? Like when we want to traverse through them? Like when filing?
- tabs or key folder jump-lists/shortcuts.
> would like the ability to set 1-4 jump shortcuts to navigate to a specific sub-folder when required.
> would like to jump to the bottom of ALL folders within my corporate/personal mailbox.
> maybe alphabetical by Letters on right-side bar like that in Contacts list.
> Inertial scrolling is taking up MORE effort to navigate to the specific folder now-a-days: often swiping back too often.
- FONT SIZE!!
> Receiving an email with an imbedded table, picture or document without fail IMMEDIATELY reduces the Font Size of the rest of the text within that email, or within the email thread. NO setting Text Size or maximing Text within Accessibility does NOT correct this! Those text size adjustments ONLY affect the Menu and headers of such an email (Subject, To/CC/BCC fields). THIS MUST be fixed.
Using pinch to zoom IN to read the text also now leads to scroll Left/Scroll Right then pinch to zoom OUT to read ALL the text that used to fit in the screen and also to resize the imbedded document/picture/table to legibly read that as well.
- Attachments!!
> Why the hell do I NEED to goto the bottom of EVERY email just to get to an attachment?
> Can there not be a button within each email that has attachments be present to select and expand a sort of finder list to open up the attachments or a quick ForceTouch to preview?
> maybe a line under the subject field that can be expanded for attachments. I should
NOT have to re-read a document (or scroll through it) to get at such an attachment.
iOS Mail app like OSX's needs a SERIOUS overhaul! NOW like 4yrs ago!
